Wood Bison Trail Hike

Thirteen people came out to hike the Wood Bison trail. This trail is a loop on the land of the Elk Isand National Park on the south side of the Yellowhead Highway. The highway neatly divides the park, separating the Wood Bison herd from the Plains Bison herd on the north side.

Due to the rains and storms this summer, there were a lot of downed trees and lots of mud.

We finished the hike in 5 and a half hours. It was a fund adventure. Thanks to everyone who came out and made such an enjoyable day. You can see all the photos on Flickr.

Blackfoot Staging Area Hike

Cold yet sunny, with lots of fresh snow on the trail. Eight hardy hikers turned out in a show of solidarity with the wildlife as winter lingers on in Alberta.
