It has been a while since we have done a summer/fall hike from Waskehegan Staging area. Eleven came out on a glorious fall day. Throughout the day we ran into numerous other hikers and cyclists.
We took the Lost Lake trail from Waskehegan Staging to Meadow Shelter for a relaxing lunch. Our return included several other trails — Grouse, Spruce Hollow & Neon. The summer rain had taken its toll on the trail, as evidenced by the number of downed trees, recent chainsaw cleaning, beaver activity, and extremely high water levels. Nevertheless, the park rangers have done a fabulous job maintaining the trail.
A wonderful day was had by all.
