    Meet at Trailhead - We do not provide organized car pooling. However, participants are encouraged to make their own car pooling arrangements.

    A wonderful full hike will go through a combination of forest & farmland, with lunch at the historic St. Margaret's Church on the edge of Hastings Lake.     Note (updated 2026-07-11, 17:00MT) - the trail was re-scouted on Saturday (11th), on the groups return the got caught in the rain. The trail became very treacherous & the hike leader was injured.     We should have a good selection of wild flowers, as we follow Pipestone Creek through some old growth forest & along some cattle farms.     The huge valley starting at Gwynne and containing the Battle River as it flows eastward across Alberta, was created in a few days.
