Thirteen people came out to hike the south end of Saunders Lake. It was windy at the start, but the strong wind dwindled to nothing as we left Rollyview Road and headed north along the edge.

Much of the lake was still covered in ice. But there was enough open water to appease the geese and ducks in this early season. Other animals out on this day were two coyotes wandering on the frozen lake and a northern flicker calling from the bushes.
Thanks to Stella for scouting and leading the hike and for trail maintenance for the work they put into the trail last fall. Thank you also to the landowners for their continuing permission. You can find more photos on Flickr.
