Fall Colour Walk to Gwynne Ski Hill

Fourteen people came out to hike the trail outside Gwynne to the ski hill. The skies were slightly overcast and the weather was mild. It was a perfect day for enjoying the fall colours.

We noticed everywhere that while the leaves had turned to brilliant golds and red, the trees were not yet letting them drop.

A herd of llamas approached the fence as soon they saw us coming.

We are not always this lucky to see the llamas!

The total hike was just over 7 km. Thanks to John S. for leading the hike, to trail maintenance for clearing the trail–especially through the tall grasses up and down slopes. Thanks also to the landowners for their continued permission. You can see more photos on Flickr.

Where we’re hiking next.
