Miquelon North Hike

Seventeen people came out to hike Miquelon on a beautiful sunny day. The temperature reached 17C, which is very comfortable for the middle of spring. There was still some snow at the south end but it wasn’t too much of a bother.

We walked up to the beaver pond to see the lodge – it’s huge. Likely there is a large family living there, which would explain why so many trees were gone.

The migration is happening—we spotting a small flock of snow geese.  We also saw some interesting scat – it looked like a pile of food pellets. Google picture search suggested a raccoon. But a search on porcupines brought up a very similar picture.

Thanks to everyone for coming out to the hike. You can see all the photos on Flickr.

Where we’re going next.
