Waskahegan Staging towards Meadow – Canceled
January 23, 2022 @ 10:15 am – 3:00 pm MST
Update from January WTA Board Meeting – due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns we will be canceling the upcoming hikes. We will revisit the status at the February WTA Board Meeting.
A great hike for the winter, most trails will be carpeted with snow and the wide paths allow the hikers to socialize. There may even be the occasional hawk and some chickadees. The hike will leave from the parking lot at the Waskahegan Staging Area at about 10:30 a.m. If the weather (& trail) holds out we will stop for lunch at Meadow Shelter (if tough slogging we may shorten it up a bit with lunch at the ‘bus stop’ style shelter beside Arrowhead Lake). The pictures from January 20th, 2019.
Note: at Meadow Shelter there may still be limitations on the number of people permitted inside & a mask requirement for those inside. There are multiple outdoor tables & benches, so if the restrictions are still in effect & the weather isn’t cooperative we may have to switch up those inside/outside throughout the lunch stop.
If you are new to WTA hikes, then you should visit the Guided Hikes webpage for essential information. For further information specific to this hike, refer to The Waskahegan Trail Guide Book, pages 84-85, or contact the Hike Leader John S..
