Stoney Creek (from Stoney Creek Centre)
July 12, 2020 @ 9:45 am - 3:00 pm MDT
We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 status and will gradually restart our hikes, with some obvious protocol changes listed at the bottom.
It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone that it has been wet, so we’ve changed the starting point to the Stoney Creek Centre (“A69” from the map on page 59 in the ‘Waskahegan Trail Guide’).
The very scenic Stoney Creek hike will start from Stoney Creek Centre (5320 – 39 Ave. Camrose) at around 10 a.m.. Depending on how much the trail dries out over the next couple of days we will either –
- take the route along the west side of Stoney Creek (Pg 59 towards ‘D’ then Pg 57), which will likely still have a bit of mud & water (so bring appropriate footwear); or
- take the paved town trails which include the Stony Creek loop and the Mirror Lake loop (Pg 59).
If you are new to WTA hikes, then you should visit the Guided Hikes webpage for essential information. For further information specific to this hike, refer to The Waskahegan Trail Guide Book, pages 56-59, or contact the Hike Leader Elizabeth B., at 780-672-2873.
