Note: the Shirley Lake Trail at Elk Island is still closed for maintenance so the hike will be canceled. Surprisingly, this is a hike we rarely do through the Ministik Bird Sanctuary that continues on past the 'Ball Berg/NCC' section going to an old fire tower.
