Saunders Lake 1-way (A33 to A29) – Tentative
September 21, 2025 @ 9:45 am – 3:00 pm MDT
This hike will be an 8 km 1-way, follows the shoreline, giving views of waterbirds and red tailed hawks, with a deer being a bonus. In April we will have hiked the Southend of the lake (A33 to A30) while in August it was the northland (A29 to A30+).
At the end of the hike, we’ll stop at Rig Hand Distillery for lunch (plus craft beer and mocktails). Rig Hand is only 300 meters from the trail head at A29. You can checkout the Rig Hand menu here –> at Rig Hand – Kitchen.
We’ll stop for an extended tea break at A30. Those not planning to head on to Rig Hand for lunch can have their standard trail lunch at A30 & return to A30 on their own.
We’ll meet at the trail head beside Rollyview Road at the end of Saunders Lake at 9:45 a.m. (parking area across the highway). The hike will leave from ‘A33’ at 10:00, after getting to A29 we will coordinate getting the drivers back to A33 to get their vehicles. The pictures from previous hikes – September 17th, 2023 (Southend). and August 11th, 2024 (Northend).
