North Miquelon – Miquelon Park (A85) to A86 – Tentative
April 16 @ 10:15 am – 3:00 pm MDT
Note (updated 2023-03-22): we did a first try of scouting on March 20 & the snow was still too deep –
- from the map on Pg. 71, the trail from “A85” to “D” took us over an hour for <2km & we were exhausted
- we took the old golf club road back to A85, that was easy & ~20 min
- we’ll try scouting it again closer to the hike
- if still too tough we’ll do a hike on Edmonton city trails instead, which one TBD as hoping for Miquelon …
We’ll try to do an early spring hike at North Miquelon, start in Miquelon Provincial Park, going past some of the campsites, exit the park heading along an inlet off Miquelon Lake, past St F.X. Lookout & a new pond that cut through our trail. We’ll have lunch beside a pond at A86 and return along the same route, with a round trip of ~10km.
We’ll meet at the Miquelon Provincial Park office at 10:15 a.m… The hike will leave at 10:30, from the mainparking lot (or we may drive as a group ~2km to start from the “Group 7 Campground”) . Unfortunately no spring oir late fall) pictures, there ones are from August 7th, 2022.
