Mill Creek Ravine
December 19, 2021 @ 10:15 am – 2:00 pm MST
With the winter weather finally hitting Edmonton, Lorna has altered the route for the “Mill Creek Ravine” hike. We will now meet at the Mill Creek Ravine Trailhead on 88th Avenue (East side of Millcreek Ravine, at the top of the stairs) at about 10:15. Parking is in the street near the stairs (end of 88th Ave) or ~100m away in the parking lot for Maurice Lavalee School. The hike leaving promptly at 10:30.
We will meet at the Mill Creek Ravine Trailhead (on 33B Avenue & 22nd Street, with on street parking along 33B Ave) at about 10:15 a.m., with the hike leaving promptly at 10:30.
We will enter the ravine from the stairs on 88th Ave and then proceed south as far as 76th Ave on the dirt paths. We will return on another path continuing north to Muttart Conservatory. If it is not too slippery, we will detour on to some single track trails. Pictures from April 5th, 2015.
Our lunch will be in the patio area of the Muttart. Just before Muttart, there is a portapotty. For those who have proof of vaccination, coffee and other lunch items are available from Culina cafe inside the Muttart. Also the indoor washrooms are available to those with proof of vaccination.
Following lunch, we will head south down the Millcreek Ravine taking a different trail to our cars.
We should be back at our cars by 2 pm.
Participants should check the website prior to departure in case of a change (e.g., weather forecast, trail conditions).
