Battery Creek Trails (+ Devon Golf Course River Loop)
February 2, 2025 @ 10:15 am – 3:00 pm MST
This is a new part of the River Valley Alliance trail system that will eventually connect Devon to Fort Saskatchewan – Devon’s new article. The River Valley Alliance web site provides a good overview of the trail Battery Creek Trail.
The hike will be ~9km. We’ll start by going from the trailhead to the current trail end & back (~1½km each way, a bit longer if the stairs down to the platform at the bottom of the ravine are OK). Then it will be the section of the trail that connects to the Lion’s Campground in Devon where we’ll have lunch at the gazebo (~1¼km). After lunch we’ll follow the river side of the trail looping around the Devon Golf Course and back through the Lion’s Campground before returning to the parking lot at the trailhead. Pictures from December 17th, 2023.
We’ll meet at the parking lot at the Battery Creek Trailhead (on Range Road 262 just off the new Devonian Trail from the lights on Highway 19) at about 10:15 a.m.. The hike will leave from the parking lot at 10:30.
