Wanisan Lake (A99 to Meadow Shelter) – Canceled (weather)

Hike Canceled (Updated December 17th, 10:00): Unfortunately the weather will be turning very cold this weekend, with the current hourly forecast at Blackfoot/Cooking Lake for Sunday between 10:00-15:00 at -19° to -22° with a windchill of -26° to -28°, cloudy & a chance of light snow to make the trail even tougher.
The Wanisan Lake hike incorporates the WTA’s “Wanisan Stopover” and continues on into the Blackfoot Recreation Area. The hike will be unto ~10 km along the edge of the lake and into the park starting at “A99” and heading into Blackfoot Park & Meadow Shelter and if the weather is good the loop around Arrowhead Lake with lunch at Meadow Shelter. The pictures from March 6th, 2022, even though there is snow the trails they get heavily used and will be in great shape for walk.
We will meet at the trail head (south of Blackfoot Recreation Area) at “A99” (the end of on Range Road 204), we should be there at about 10:15 a.m. with the hike starting at 10:30.
