Whitemud Park to Laurier Park, via Hawrelak Park Footbridge

February 18 @ 10:15 am 3:00 pm MST

An exciting winter hike through the river valley parks with the added bonus of the annual Silver Skate Festival going on at Laurier Park (snow sculptures & food pavilions).

We’ll meet in the parking lot at Whitemud Park (on Fox Drive, turn north on Keillor Road and turn into the first parking lot). Be there at 10:15 a.m. for a hike start time at 10:30.

The pictures from February 19th, 2023.

If you are new to WTA hikes, then you should visit the Guided Hikes webpage for essential information. For further information specific to this hike, refer to The Waskahegan Trail Guide Book (pages 14-15) or contact the Hike Leader, Martha M. at 780-913-9779.

Note: This will be the reverse of the hike we’ve done for the past few years, as Hawrelak Park will be closed for renovations until 2026 & the Silver Skate Festival is temporarily relocating to Laurier Park. While the interior of Hawrelak Park will be closed for renovations, the perimeter trails around Hawrelak Park and the pedestrian bridge will continue to be open.

Here are the stories of previous hikes:
