DESCRIPTION:This hike\, 9.8 km round trip\, follows the shoreline\, giving views of waterbirds and red tailed hawks\, with a deer being a bonus. \n\n\n\nWe’ll meet at the trail head beside Rollyview Road at the end of Saunders Lake at 9:45 a.m. (parking area across the highway). The hike will leave from ‘A33’ at 10:00. SUMMARY:Coal Lake A43 to Point Cooperation - Tentative
DESCRIPTION:The first of our two hikes over the next few weeks along Coal Lake to Point Cooperation. The Point is named for Project Cooperation\, in which six 15- and 16-year olds\, funded by the Province and by the Waskahegan Trail Association\, cleared this section as part of their summer work in 1975. \nWe will meet at “A43” (Township Road 480 / Range Road 240)  at 9:45 a.m.\, with the hike leaving at 10:00. We’ll then follow the route along Coal Lake to Point Cooperation and back to A43.  Pictures from June 29th\, 2025. \nThere is limited parking at “A43” so on hike day try to minimize the # of vehicles through car pooling. \nIf you are new to WTA hikes\, then you should visit the Guided Hikes webpage for essential information. SUMMARY:Northend Saunders Lake (A29 to A30+) - Tentative
DESCRIPTION:Always good early summer hike along Saunders Lake\, from the northland (A29) to to a little past A30. Hopefully with the end of the bird migration and great for nature lovers. The hike will be ~10km. \n\n\n\nWe’ll meet at the trail head beside at “A29” along Range Road 244A (at the bend in the road ~100m after “Rig Hand”) at 9:45 a.m.. \n\n\n\nNote: there has been a change to where we can park. Please park in the longer grass on the east side a little further down the road (closer to ‘Rig Hand’). Do not drive on or park on the cut grass near the gate where we typically park. \n\n\n\nThe hike will leave from ‘A29’ at 10:00.  Rig Hand is open until 14:00 on Sunday so some of us may drop in for a quick drink  after the hike. DESCRIPTION:We are having the Members Social & hike at Miquelon Lake Provincial Park. The hike will be a short on on the park trails before returning for the Members Social.  The pictures from the 2025 members BBQ & hike – September 28th\, 2025. \nNote: This is a members only event for WTA Members & Volunteers\, if you plan on attending the Members Social portion of the day please – \n\ncontact TBD (hikes@waskahegantrail.ca or call ???-???-????)\nbring your own lawn chairs\n\nWe’ll meet at the parking lot of the Miquelon Provincial Park office at 9:45a.m. (park’s office parking lot)\, with the hike leaving at 10:00. If you are planning to just attend the members Social portion after the hike\, that should start about 12:00. \nFor further information specific to Miquelon Lake Provincial Park\, refer to The Waskahegan Trail Guide Book (page 69) or visit the Miquelon Lake Provincial Park web site.
