Pipestone Creek (2 Groups – A49-A52 11.2km & A49-A50 6.6km)

June 24, 2018 @ 8:45 am - 3:00 pm MDT

We’ll be starting from the hike from ‘A49’, on Highway 814 but we’ll go in 2 groups:

  • one at a more leisurely pace, following the success of Jerry Shaw’s wild flower hike from last season will go as far as the bridge at ‘A50’ before returning (~6.6km)
  • another going at a faster pace, continuing on past ‘A50’ to ‘A52’, following a section of the trail we haven’t used recently due to a landslide just past ‘A52’ (~11.2km)

The pictures from June 25th, 2017 cover the section to “A50” while the ones from June 22nd, 2014 was on the other section (albeit that day we had to work our way through the landslide).

In Edmonton we will meet at the Century Park ‘Park & Ride’ Section E in the paid lot (it’s free on weekends) and carpool leaving at 9 a.m. Participants may proceed there directly on their own (we’ll be there about at about 9:50 a.m.), but should check the website prior to departure in case of a change.

If you are new to WTA hikes, then you should visit the Guided Hikes webpage for essential information. For further information specific to this hike, refer to The Waskahegan Trail Guide Book, pages 42-43, or contact the Hike Leader, JoAnne B. & Lee S.  (Text 780-232-0733)
