January 8, 2023 @ 10:15 am – 1:30 pm MST
Johanne & Dennis leading us through some of their favourite sections of the Mactaggart Sanctuary. We we had to cancel this hike twice last winter (cold & COVID) but eventually did it in the spring, picture from Johanne & Dennis April 3rd, 2022. But that was a nice spring day, expect some snow & ice in January so remember your hiking poles and spikes.
We’ll meet at the Mactaggart Sanctuary Trail Parking Lot on 23rd Ave at about 10:15 a.m. The hike will leave from the parking lot at 10:30 and we are planning on a 7-8km hike with some hills. Bring hiking poles and spikes. If conditions are poor, we may take the paved path towards the Waves Coffee cafe for a total of up to 10 km return depending on conditions. If conditions on the paved path are good, then we will walk all the way to the cafe where there will be washrooms available, otherwise, there will be no washrooms on this event. There will be a short 15 minute rest stop for a snack or a bit of lunch halfway along the hike.
