Hike: Fort Ethier A48 to A48D
August 7, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm MDT
This week’s hike, 11.4 km in total, is along a very special part of the Waskahegan Trail. Starting with a living relic from Canadian history (Fort Ethier from the time of the 1885 Riel Rebellion) and a close-up look at an alpaca farm, followed by shaded cliff-top views of Bigstone Creek and sun-filled stretches close to the water, what’s not to like? Expect to stop at a special spot for lunch and a rest.
For further information, consult the Waskahegan Trail Guide Book (pages 40–41) or contact the hike leader, JoAnne B. & Lee S., at 780-487-0645.
Note: due to trail maintenance concerns we’ve switched the August 7th & 14th hikes, ‘Fort Ethier A48 to A48D’ will now be on the 7th rather than the 14th.
Happily hikers along this special section of the Waskahegan Trail….
