Devon Ravine Trails – Canceled
December 13, 2020 @ 10:15 am - 3:00 pm MST
The hike is cancelled on the basis of a clarification of the new provincial guidelines.
We’ll keep monitoring the situation, potentially rescheduling the hike for later in the season.
We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 status and will gradually restart our hikes, with some obvious protocol changes listed at the bottom.
It is a nice 9km hike through Devon & every time we seem to do a hike there the trail has improved. Pictures from January 5th, 2020.
The hike will leave from the parking lot at the Lion’s Campground at about 10:30 a.m., going through the ravine, taking a few city streets to the arena and then the trails back to the Lion’s Campground.
Participants should proceed there directly on their own, but should check the website prior to departure in case of a change (e.g., weather forecast, trail conditions).
If you are new to WTA hikes, then you should visit the Guided Hikes webpage for essential information. For further information specific to this hike, refer to The Waskahegan Trail Guide Book, pages 118-119, or contact the Hike Leader, or contact the Hike Leader, JoAnne B. & Lee S. via e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) or phone (780-487-0645).
Initial protocol changes due to COVID-19:
Government of Alberta action plans to beat COVID-19, Albertans are encouraged to assess and manage their personal risk. It is reasonable for people to continue using precautions that will serve their needs.
Waskahegan Trail Association protocol changes for our events:
- We meet at the event location (e.g., trailhead for hikes). There is no organized car pooling, however, participants can make their own car pooling arrangements
- Don’t attend if you are awaiting the results of COVID-19 testing or if you have any signs or symptoms of covid or anything unusual
- Only attend if you are feeling well and are comfortable being with the group.
- Individual event coordinators (e.g., hike leaders) and event locations (e.g., buildings within the parks) may have additional requirements that MUST be followed at all times.
We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 status and may has to make further adjustments.
