Century Park (Section D of paid lot), 2515 111 Street NW
Edmonton, Alberta T6J 5N3 Canada
+ Google Map

Each Spring, the shore of Saunders Lake is the first part of the Waskahegan Trail to be free of snow. This hike, 9.8 km round trip, follows the shoreline, giving views of early waterbirds and red tailed hawks. Lots of sun too, so bring a hat. This Saturday hike is to kickoff our Meetup Group page and we may add more Saturday hikes to accommodate demand. We chose Saunders Lake because it's not a long drive. And it will likely…

The hike follows the Battle River east towards Stoney Creek and Camrose. There we stop to eat our lunches, thankful for the spectacular views. After returning to the trailhead, we'll make a quick visit to…

Gwynne Section & Chickadee Trail

May 13 @ 8:45 am - 3:00 pm MDT
Century Park (Section D of paid lot), 2515 111 Street NW
Edmonton, Alberta T6J 5N3 Canada

At the end of the last ice age, glacier water trapped by ice formed huge Lake Edmonton. The water finally broke through the ice at Gwynne and the whole lake emptied, creating…
