Change – Ross Creek (A115 to A116
A109 to A111) & a bit of the River Valley Alliance Trail
June 11 @ 8:45 am - 3:00 pm MDT
The trail for the originally planed hike (A109-A111) is unusable this year so we are moving up the road a bit with a split hike:
► starting along Ross Creek, but the shorter ‘Pleasantview Section’ of A115 to A116 (Pg 107, where Ross Creek crosses Range Road 222 just north of Township Road 544)
► then a short drive to the river (at Township Road 540) to walk a section of the River Valley Alliance Trail between Sherwood Park & Fort Saskatchewan, with lunch along the river
This section of the trail is in the Partridge Hill District near Fort Saskatchewan. It features wetlands, ponds, and pasture.
In Edmonton we will meet at the Belvedere ‘Park & Ride’ (free lot) & carpool (leaving at 9 a.m.). Participants may proceed there directly on their own, but should check the website prior to departure in case of a change (e.g., weather forecast, trail conditions).
If you are new to WTA hikes, then you should visit the Guided Hikes webpage for essential information. For further information specific to this hike, refer to The Waskahegan Trail Guide Book, pages 106-107
