Miquelon (A84 to D) Mushroom March
May 21 @ 8:45 am - 3:00 pm MDT
On Sunday’s Mushroom March, Leonard Peleshok, a friend of the Malcolms and an expert on mushrooms, has offered (to be confirmed).
This hike, about 10 km round trip, spends half its time in kettle moraine woods and the other half alongside one of the three Miquelon Lakes (this one being known as Miquelon Lake #2!). The hike is known for the plenitude of mushrooms normally found this time of year. We plan to have a naturalist along who will know which ones are safe to eat. 🙂

In Edmonton we will meet at the Century Park ‘Park & Ride’ (free lot) & carpool (leaving at 9 a.m.). Participants may proceed there directly on their own, but should check the website prior to departure in case of a change (e.g., weather forecast, trail conditions).
If you are new to WTA hikes, then you should visit the Guided Hikes webpage for essential information. For further information specific to this hike, refer to The Waskahegan Trail Guide Book, pages 66-67, or contact the Hike Leader, Irene M..
