Miquelon (A86 to A87)
May 21 @ 8:45 am - 3:00 pm MDT
(Note: changed May 18) This hike was originally going to be through a section known for mushrooms. However a new pond has formed right at the start of the trail, so we are changing the route. We’ll start just outside the Miquelon Lake Provincial Park, and head north. Landmarks are Currie Pasture, the Marsh Mitchell Cabin, and a secluded pond with a beaverlodge and lots of birds. It will be a 10 km round trip.
In Edmonton we will meet at the Century Park ‘Park & Ride’ Section J (it’s free on weekends) and carpool leaving promptly at 9 a.m. Participants may proceed there directly on their own, but should check the website prior to departure in case of a change (e.g., weather forecast, trail conditions).
If you are new to WTA hikes, then you should visit the Guided Hikes webpage for essential information. For further information specific to this hike, refer to The Waskahegan Trail Guide Book, pages 70-71, or email the Hike Leader, Irene M. or call 780-679-2218.
