Battle River East to Rest & Be Thankful Hill
April 23 @ 8:45 am - 3:00 pm MDT
We typically have this hike in the spring, as the crocuses are starting to bloom and a chance to get out on a country trail after a long Alberta winter. The sections out heading out from the campground and just before Rest & Be Thankful Hill can be boggy this time of year but it is always a great hike. The pictures from May 3rd, 2015.
The hike will leave from the Duhamel Campground (at Range Road 212C just off Highway 21) at about 10 a.m.
In Edmonton we will meet at the northwest corner of the Real Canadian Superstore parking lot on Calgary Trail & carpool (leaving at 9 a.m., car pool lead by TBD). Participants may proceed there directly on their own, but should check the website prior to departure in case of a change (e.g., weather forecast, trail conditions).
If you are new to WTA hikes, then you should visit the Guided Hikes webpage for essential information. For further information specific to this hike, refer to The Waskahegan Trail Guide Book, pages 52–53, or contact the Hike Leader, Elizabeth B., at 780-672-2873.
